Does Yanmar Make John Deere Tractors?

Yanmar Tractor Production Line

It is true that Yanmar and John Deere have had a partnership since the 1970s. In the early days of the partnership, John Deere tractors rolled down the exact same production line as other Yanmar models as seen in this photo from a Yanmar factory in Japan. It was common practice for the workers to swap parts from one brand to the other if they ran out of a certain part. In fact you can find many Yanmar tractors with parts like cylinder heads that are stamped with John Deere numbers.

The 650, 750, 770, 850, 950, 955, 1050 models are probably the most popular Yanmar manufactured models but Yanmar has produced many compact tractors for John Deere over the years. In fact, rumor has it, that many of the current 1000 2000 series tractor may be either entirely or partially built by Yanmar.

You can also find Yanmar engines in many of the current model John Deere compact tractors including models like the 1 and 2 series and also 3 series models like the 3032E, 3038E, 3039R, 3046R and 4 series like the 4044M/R, 4052M/R, 4066M/R.
