Why Are Some Dealers Selling Parts Cheaper?

We always try to be competitive when it comes to prices but the most important thing to keep in mind is that, when our website says " Replaces Part Numbers:", it does not mean that the part is the exact same as other parts on eBay or Amazon with that part number. There is a HUGE range of product quality out there right now.

There is a source overseas right now, for example, where I can buy a hydraulic pump for $36ea and make A LOT of profit... but it is a terrible pump with lots of problems and I would never install it on my tractor. Instead, we buy a pump that costs us almost $300 but I know it will be as durable as the original pump.  My guess is that some other sellers have taken the bait on that $36 pump and they are selling it online right now. Buyer beware.

The short story is that we will only sell the parts that we would use on our own tractors. Many of these parts require a considerable amount of labor to install and we don't want to have to re-do the work because of an inferior part. Some of our parts might cost a little more because they are OEM (Original Equipment Manufacturer)  parts. These are top quality parts and exactly the same as the original Yanmar part. Many of our parts are made in the USA from more expensive and more durable materials. There is much more to a part than having the same part number.

The longer story is that we have received sample products over the years that were very inexpensive and we could sell for a lot of profit... but they were TERRIBLE quality. One water pump comes to mind that we sold for almost $100 at the time. A manufacturer approached us with a pump that we could buy for $5.00 each!! We were extremely skeptical but equally curious so we ordered in a few to test out. The overall appearance was not terrible. Maybe a little rough but not bad. While pushing & pulling on the hub to check the bearing play- the hub pulled off the bearing... by hand! If this hub had a fan bolted to it- the fan would have flown off into the radiator costing the customer hundreds of dollars to fix. We didn't sell those pumps but I'm going to guess that you can probably still buy pumps from that supplier on Amazon and eBay.  We have had similar experiences with everything from pistons to pushrods to hydraulic pumps and even tires. There are a lot of VERY cheap parts being made out there but, if they don't pass our quality control tests, then we won't sell them.

When we receive a new sample part the first thing we do is carefully test the part to be sure it will perform well. This usually involves looking at it under a microscope for defects, testing with a hardness tester to be sure it will hold up, measuring dimensions and tolerances, and checking for overall fit and finish.

"If I would not install it on my own tractor then I will not sell it."
