INJECTOR REMOVER TOOL
Sometimes injectors will come out without too much of a fight... but sometimes they are REALLY stuck in there. This tool will screw into the base of the injector nozzle (the part that gets stuck) and allow you to remove it without damaging your injector or having to remove the head and press it out.
Shop Tip:
The tool ships with a thread protector screwed on the end. Remove that protector before use.
Instructions:
Soak the area with WD40 or your favorite penetrating oil the night before if possible. Remove the injection lines from the offending injector. Remove the injector hold down and remove the hold down studs by tightening two nuts against each other on the stud and then using the lower nut to unscrew the stud. Unscrew the TOP part of the injector from the lower injector "nut". Be sure to remove the nozzle from the nut if it does not come out with the upper body. Screw the remover adapter into the nut that is stuck in the head and give it a few whacks with the slide hammer. I have never had an injector that took more than 4-5 hits before it popped right out.
